Watching Everything Grow...

Hello from KTM Farm! Been steady busy around here. In the last week we had around 2" of rain which was much needed and the crops all are looking FABULOUS! So hopefully the weather keeps cooperating and we can get the spraying done we need to as well as keeping things growing as they have been. Here is the stage everything is in as of today.

Trying to show how tall the corn is..almost taller than my yard stick!
Who says it's not knee high till the 4th of July!!

First planted field of soybeans, just starting to see a few flowers

Sugarbeets!!

Not too long until they will fill the row (30" rows)

So there you have the latest on the crop stages thus far and everything is looking very good out there!!

Along with the field work we have a little yard project going on this summer...

The shed sits lower than shop now and is kind of in the way so we figure move it to a new home.

One mile away sits these beauties and they made room for one more to fit perfectly.

So we got it all cleaned out and ready to split up

They got it lifted up today and ready to roll out of here next week!

Once the shed is all settled in more pictures will be up. Be interesting how it will get over there in one piece.

Until next time this is what will be happening in full force (hopefully at least) around here...

Back in the Game!

Last week here at KTM was a bit slow we had a bit over 2" of rain so that shut us down planting corn and sugarbeets until Monday of this week we were able to get back out there rolling again. We had a pretty good going week and have most of the sugarbeets and corn in the ground until today it's been raining off and on most of the day...a nice rain shower and break isn't the worst scenario. Hope to finish up with those soon and then on to planting soybeans hopefully next week! Here are some of the higlights of what we have been up to around here....

BRRRR!!

Wouldn't you know that since it's been a fairly mild winter thus far for us that the week we need to haul some beans into Brushvale Seed that winter finally shows up and makes a presence known by dropping the otherwise tolerable temperature down to just about intolerable!! Luckily here in ND it isn't something new to experience.

What has to be done has to be done so out the guys were loading beans...

Also in the last few weeks we have been getting ready for spring by filling up the bins at Brushvale so the beans are all ready to be run through the seed treater before planting. Seems so far off yet not really in the grand scheme of things!

As always there is lots going on in the shop this time of year and the guys remain busy each week with various equipment to go through. No one wanted their picture taken so I will spare them at least this week.

The office remains a busy place as well, not many days are too dull around here. Once in awhile it helps to bring in some additional staff to help answer phones and do some paperwork.

LET IT SNOW, LET SNOW, LET IT SNOW!!

Greetings from KTM Farm!! It has been awhile since my last update and I am way overdue. We here have been keeping busy in the shop getting equipment ready for spring and in the office busy preparing for spring as well as preparing for year end.

We did have a little surprise this morning as it SNOWED finally!!! Not sure how long it will stay but it is here now and it officially feels like winter.

Planter is next up to get into the shop

Wishing everyone a joyous holiday season and a Happy New Year!!!

TAKING ADVANTAGE OF NICE WEATHER!!

It is hard to believe that it is November 29th and we have yet to have any significant snow and really any really cold temperatures. Therefore we have been able to keep doing a bit of field work keeping scrapers going as well as other outside projects. This week we started adding to the dike around the yard, can't be too prepard for what spring may bring!

Scrappers have been in full force all fall working on the yard

As you can see it doesn't quite look like winter just yet around here and we will continue to take advantage until it comes as we all know it will!

Welcome to our new BLOG!

Welcome to our newly updated website and now BLOG! Come here often to check out what all is going on at KTM Farm!

Since our most recent activity was harvest i'll give a little recap. This fall was really quite kind to us as far as weather goes so things moved along quite quickly which is good for everyone!

That summarizes the fall harvest. Now we are taking advantage of the nice fall weather and continuing some field work while we can to be best prepared for spring. There is always something going on around here!!
