Wheat Harvest

Wheat harvest is upon us...EARLY! We are currently well into wheat harvest and all is going good so far and looks to be a great wheat crop! We had a much needed inch of rain last night so today was a bit slow but we will be back at it tomorrow. Combines will be running as well as baling, stacking, ditching, working ground and getting beet lifters ready in the shop for pre-harvest.

Shed Has a New Home

The shed has a new home over in the other yard we have storage located at.

Getting ready to move second half

Each piece ready to roll down the road

Enroute!

First half in place

Second half in place

Both pieces are now in place at their new location and this week the movers are working on setting them down and putting them back together. We will be filling it back up soon!

It's been very hot and dry the last two weeks which have moved the crop along quite a bit so we look to be harvesting wheat by the end of the week/next week. In the mean time we have been working on hauling clay filling in where the shed moved from next to the shop.

Where the shed used to sit next to shop

We have access to clay in a hole just East of the yard

Scrapers get loaded and haul to the yard

There is a road in the field to get to and from the yard with clay

Keeping up with field work..Farming is #1!! We have been hauling lime from Minn-Dak to spread after the wheat is harvested.

Jaques hauling lime

Spraying the sugarbeets the first time with fungicide for cercospora disease.

The JD Sprayer is equipped with load command quick attach so there are no hoses,
just connects with a magnet.

Loads in a few minutes

Then once it's loaded it disconnects

And off Tim goes to spray once again

Wheat harvest will be here before we know it and the shop is busy getting these gals all ready to go!

Until next time when hopefully we have a successful wheat harvest to report!!

Watching Everything Grow...

Hello from KTM Farm! Been steady busy around here. In the last week we had around 2" of rain which was much needed and the crops all are looking FABULOUS! So hopefully the weather keeps cooperating and we can get the spraying done we need to as well as keeping things growing as they have been. Here is the stage everything is in as of today.

Wheat South of the yard

Trying to show how tall the corn is..almost taller than my yard stick!
Who says it's not knee high till the 4th of July!!

First planted field of soybeans, just starting to see a few flowers

Sugarbeets!!

Not too long until they will fill the row (30" rows)

So there you have the latest on the crop stages thus far and everything is looking very good out there!!

Along with the field work we have a little yard project going on this summer...

The shed sits lower than shop now and is kind of in the way so we figure move it to a new home.

One mile away sits these beauties and they made room for one more to fit perfectly.

So we got it all cleaned out and ready to split up

Split in two

They got it lifted up today and ready to roll out of here next week!

Loaded up

Moves in two parts

Once the shed is all settled in more pictures will be up. Be interesting how it will get over there in one piece.

Until next time this is what will be happening in full force (hopefully at least) around here...

Back in the Game!

Last week here at KTM was a bit slow we had a bit over 2" of rain so that shut us down planting corn and sugarbeets until Monday of this week we were able to get back out there rolling again. We had a pretty good going week and have most of the sugarbeets and corn in the ground until today it's been raining off and on most of the day...a nice rain shower and break isn't the worst scenario. Hope to finish up with those soon and then on to planting soybeans hopefully next week! Here are some of the higlights of what we have been up to around here....
